# Generate Neo4j Constraints from the Governed Model

Close the loop: make Neo4j enforce the governed shape.

Import your graph schema, then generate coremodels_constraints.cypher from the governed model: CREATE CONSTRAINT ... IS UNIQUE / ... IS NOT NULL statements (existence constraints are Enterprise-edition, noted in the script) plus indexes for taxonomy-constrained properties, all IF NOT EXISTS so the script is idempotent. Reference Elements are relationships in Neo4j, not properties, excluded from property constraints by design. Generation is a read-only act you run from the landing page; the script arrives as an artifact for review, never as an action performed on your database.
