# First Governed Import for Glue

Turn one AWS CLI call into a governed lake catalog.

Upload the aws glue get-tables output: Glue tables become governed Types (identity database.table, S3 Location as the physical name, classification on metadata), columns and partition keys become Elements with Hive types preserved verbatim (bigint, decimal(p,s) typed; struct<>/map<>/array<> honestly String-approximated; partition keys flagged glue.partitionKey). Glue declares no keys or nullability, none are invented. A first audit is recorded so drift tracking starts on day one. AWS credentials go to AWS, never to CoreModels.
