# Author an ODCS v3 Data Contract

From governed model to Bitol Open Data Contract Standard, no retyping.

Seed a project from the schema you already have (SQL DDL, JSON Schema, Avro, any decodable format), refine the governed model, then export a Bitol Open Data Contract Standard v3 YAML contract. Schema objects, required flags, key markers, physical column types, and classification labels all travel; anything the contract format could not hold exactly is declared in the lossiness ledger. The same odcs key decodes too, so partner contracts round-trip back into governed Types and Elements.
